Today we had the honor of welcoming award winning author, journalist and assistant Professor at Colorado State Angie Chuang to Books in Heinessight to talk about her book The Four Words For Home: A Memoir of Two Families. We discuss immigration and the racial barriers that existed in the US and how they affected her family, particular her father, a Taiwanese Immigrant and engineer. Angie Chuang is an associate professor of journalism whose research and teaching focus on race, identity and representations of Otherness. She came to academia after 13 years as a national and regional award-winning newspaper reporter at The Oregonian, The Hartford Courant and the Los Angeles Times.
Descriptions of books, insights, outlooks on life and dry wit. Political commentary and satirical articles, along with Matthew's unique perspective on how sadly history is repeating itself. A guaranteed chuckle.
